Three buddies before they head off to WW1 - fighting ended on 11/11/18 at 11a. The family knows the driver (Dad) and the names of the other two men, but they don't know who those men are or what happened to them! Can you help?

It looks like this photo was done in a studio. The background appears to be a painting. RB

I'm sure it was! I think they're buddies from camp, taking a photo before they headed out for the front.

I have a similar picture of my great uncle with his wife and her brothers in a car. They were too old for service but it would have been around the same time. It definitely was a studio photo.

Brave young men, going off to fight in a foreign war, to make the world safe for Democracy, as President Wilson said. I HOPE they survived the war, came home, and had happy, productive lives and big families. Of course, ALL the Great War vets are gone now. My neighborhood (when I was a boy) had quite a few WWI vets, and I had a few in my extended family. I miss them! They lived thru incredible times, the Great War, the Roaring 20's, the Wall Street Crash, the awful Great depression and then recovery during the New Deal, and finally World War II, in which some of them fought again! Then the Atomic age! Many WWI vets lived into the 21st century. What lives they led and what incredible changes they saw and lived thru! I envy them!
