Circa 1951? Maybe you can see some clues for the date in the photo. And that's a typical cat: taking center stage!
The radio looks to be a 1940s style. So does the little girl's dress. I had dresses like that (I was born in 1948).

It could be the photo was taken in the early 1950s since the furniture style of the chair looks a little older than the radio, but the seat cushion is a bit saggy, so it's been in the home for probably a decade or two.

Ree Young, good analysis! Only thing that is confusing me is the girl’s hair. Usually from the 30-early 60’s girls & women wore their hair shorter (up until Beatles arrival).

Sherry Richmond Nope that's my hair, exactly....baby hair still...
This photo was of me on my 5th birthday, 1953. My hair was...and still is...baby fine and thin. It was long, and my mother had it pulled back in a low ponytail. Otherwise, it was all fly-away and forever getting into my face.

My big sister standing next to me had long hair, too, but hers was wavy and thick..

Looks more like 1940s. Looks like my grandmother’s house more than my mother’s.
She may be at her grandmas home, she is def wearing shoes from the 50s

I would guess mid to late 1940s. My parents married January 1949. Pictures were taken in my grandparents home. The pictures looked somewhat like this, except there was a television in some of their pictures.

I love antique photographs. In addition to sharing old photos of my family, I am also going through my collection of "antique store people". They've been sitting in a storage tub in my back room much too long and maybe some of their families will be able to find them here. If I'm able to identify the people in the photo, I upload it not only to AncientFaces, but also to Ancestry, FamilySearch, and Find-A-Grave. If the person in the picture is a military veteran, the photo also goes on Fold3. I figure that the more places I upload these pictures, the greater the chance that a relative will be able to find them.
