I learned once upon a time that my mom worked in a naval shipyard in San Francisco during WWII. I'm not entirely sure what she did - something about scraping the sides of the ships? It's probably just one of many things she did or knew about that I never fully realized until it was too late to ask her. :)

My mother was one of the first to join up she had been in before they became part of the Army and rejoined again when it became the WAAC's.

These women were among my strongest influences to becoming an aircraft mechanic! They paved the way for me so I, too, could squash rivets and wrench on engines! Thank you ladies!!! It's been an awesome 25 year career so far!
