Celia (Amster) Bader of Manhattan County, NY was born on May 3, 1902. She was in a relationship with Nathan Bader, and had children Marylin Ginsburg and Ruth (Bader) Ginsburg. Celia Bader died at age 48 years old on June 25, 1950.
Nathan Bade was born near Odessa, Ukraine, which was part of the Russian Empire at the time. He emigrated to the United States when he was 13. He married Celia Amster Bader who was the daughter of recent Polish immigrants. Together they had Supreme Court Justice Ruther Bader Ginsburg, who, was originally named Joan, but because there were so many children in her class with the name Joan, suggested she go by her middle name.

I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.
