Lillian Rogers
Aunt Lillian Anderson was married twice. First to Bud Wynn, then to Gerald Rogers. She had a lot of children from her first marriage, and so did Gerald Rogers. They lived on a farm in Spartansburg, PA, until her brother, my Uncle Andy Anderson, passed away in the late 1990's. Then Aunt Lil moved to Tennessee and bought a farm there where she lived until she passed away at the age of 91 on Jan 29, 2019. Her nephew, who is my Uncle Bill Donoghue, had this to say when he posted this pic on Social Media Feb 2, 2019: My brother, Jay, told me last night that Aunt Lil - Lillian (Anderson) Rogers - passed away on Tuesday at age 91, a good, long, and very productive life.
She was my Mom's (Linnea) twin sister and my family spent many summer weekends at hers and Uncle Gerald's farm. (In Spartansburg PA) I, myself, would spend a week or two there every summer.
When I was in a lot of trouble at about age 12 she and Uncle Gerald took me in to live with them for about 3 years.
They were my second set of parents and I love them both dearly.
Everything she cooked was from scratch, everything. Home made bread, canned all of her own vegetables and fruits and even meat.
Very little store bought food on that farm.
The kitchen sink water came out of a hand pump.
I couldn't have had a better experience in my life, I often wish, even today, that I'd never left and gone back home.
God bless you Aunt Lil, may the Angels speed you on to your rest and may the Lord God embrace you in His loving arms
