As of May 24, 2021, the death of Welsh singer Krissy Duffy was being reported in UK news and on social media. However, as of January 2023, she is still alive and active.
Krissy's father was John Duffy and her mother was Joyce Smith (née Williams). Her birth name was Aimee Anne Duffy and she grew up in Nefyn Wales with her twin sister, Kate, and an older sister, Kelly Ann, who was born in 1980. Her parents divorced when she was 10 and her mother married Philip Smith.
In 1998, Krissy was briefly put in a police safe house when authorities uncovered a plot by her stepfather's ex-wife to pay a hitman £3,000 to kill her stepfather Philip. "Duffy describes living in the safe house as a dog-eat-dog, claustrophobic and isolating experience. Aged 15, she ran away back to her father's home in Nefyn. Duffy said in retrospect, "It was a horrendous thing to do." Her mother and her sisters did not speak to her for about a year afterwards. In reaction to her parents' break-up, her next three years were a rebellious period that included "binge drinking and stealing a rowing boat" according to Wikipedia.
She then began singing with local bands and appeared in various musical venues. After appearing in 2003 on Wawffactor, a Welsh television talent show, Duffy went on to record an album which later achieved some success in Wales. Signing with A&M Records UK in 2007 was her big break and a string of hits ensued, beginning with "Rockferry".
She has also appeared in 3 films and has endorsed products such as Nivea and Diet Coke.
Krissy, a singer, was reportedly raped in 2020. See the story at Duffy was at high risk of suicide. . ..

I'm a Founder of AncientFaces and support the community answering questions & helping members make connections to the past (thus my official title of Founder & Content and Community Support ). For me, it's been a labor of love for over 20 years. I truly believe with all of my heart that everyone should be remembered for generations to come.
I am 2nd generation San Jose and have seen a lot of changes in the area while growing up. We used to be known as the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (because the Valley was covered with orchards and there were many canneries to process the food grown here, which shipped all over the US) - now we have adopted the nickname "Capital of Silicon Valley" and Apple, Ebay, Adobe, Netflix, Facebook, and many more tech companies are within a few miles of my current home in San Jose (including AncientFaces). From a small town of 25,000, we have grown to 1 million plus. And when you add in all of the communities surrounding us (for instance, Saratoga, where I attended high school, living a block from our previous Mayor), we are truly one of the big cities in the US. I am so very proud of my hometown. For more information see Kathy - Founder & Content and Community Director My family began AncientFaces because we believe that unique photos and stories that show who people are/were should be shared with the world.
