The love and patience that our grandmothers and great-grandmother's before us had to put on that beautiful all homemade food beautiful dishes I got to clean it all up they did it three times a day plus shout out to all the women that came before us much respect

That is how both my grandmas' tables looked back in the 50s and 60s...loaded. After we ate oftentimes a tablecloth was draped over everything so the adults could go into the sitting room to visit...and we kids could play outside.

Sofia Magdalena it’s likely that the ‘cook’ killed and cleaned the chicken only hours before cooking it.

They look fairly well to do. Matching dinnerware and ample food. The "plant" behind them looks to be stems with cotton bolls and makes me think they lived in the South.
Sharon Emrich Shaw nope. They lived in Northern Indiana. They were my hubby's great great grandparents. Martin and Mary Ann Kizer.

That's a beautifully laid out table, just like my Grandmother's in Kentucky a lifetime ago.
