This is Josephus Asa Cox, my great grandfather. Fortunately, I have traced his family line to the birth of his great grandfather whom was born many years before the American Revolution. Now, I have found his descendants that I hoped to exist and in fact exist to this day. And, his great grandfather was a Revolutionary war hero. Wow! Josephus never knew that his father survived the Civil War and returned to Georgia after General Lee's surrender. Unfortunately, his father died a short time after he returned to Georgia. Josephus never found his mother and father after the Civil War. Both survived that war, but both died shortly thereafter. On a personal note, I also discovered that I am a direct descendant of another Revolutionary war hero whose lineage goes back to the 1600s in the colonies, although his name is not Cox or Coxe. I honor their service and sacrifice for the land they all loved by virtue of my search for and rememberance of all of them. Leonard E. Cox
