Josephine Duffy Obituary
Josephine Duffy, lifelong resident of the Tarrytowns, died Monday, November 9, 1998, in Bethel Nursing Home in Croton, NY. She was 91 years old.She was born November 18, 1907, in Tarrytown to Edward and Elizabeth Betti Vetrano. Ms. Duffy was an assembler at P.R. Mallory Company in North Tarrytown for twenty years.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas of Valley Cottage, NY, and Edward of Ponte Verde, FL. Also surviving are nine grand-children; twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; her brother, Edward Vetrano of Tarrytown, NY, and her sister Helen Vetrano of Clinton, OH.

She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Margotta and Jesse Verone and her brother, Joseph Vetrano.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at Saint Teresa of Avila Church. Interment, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Josephine Vetrano was the daughter of Edward Vetrano and Elizabeth Baker. She had an older brother named Edward Vetrano and an older sister named Jessie Vetrano as well as younger siblings Mary, Celeste, Helen, and Natalie Vetrano. She was born in Tarrytown, Westchester, New York, USA and later resided in Greenburgh, Westchester, New York. She married Thomas J Duffy on November 18, 1928 in Yonkers, NY. They had two children together Thomas E Duffy (1929-2015) and Edward J Duffy (1934-2002) and later divorced sometime before 1950. Josephine also married a Mr. Stauch. Josephine was an assembler at P.R. Mallory Company ( a battery farm) in North Tarrytown for twenty years. She passed away on November 9, 1998 in New York.
