Judith,
I live in Texas and am related to the Duke family of Panola County Mississippi. david Duke and Elizabeth Jones Duke. On your cemetery fine, is John David Duke the only Duke buried in Panola County?
I have always suspected this John David Duke as ours but can't seem to tie him in. We have a John David Duke born 1861 s/o John William Duke , marr: Lucy Louanna. Do you know the parents of your John David Duke? Sure would solve this question to us.

Nice picture. I just went on a Cemetery hunting trip myself and came back with lots of pictures. Phyllis
Hi Phyllis: I too am descended from David & Elizabeth. John David is not the only Duke buried in Panola Co. I do have a John David Duke 1859-1920, s/o Francis Marion Duke & his 2nd wife who m. J. E. Tribble.

I just took a look at my Duke info: I show a JAMES DAVID Duke (1861-1906) m. Lucy Luanna Adams and a JOHN WALTER Duke (b. 1863 d. 1864) as sons of John William & Elizabeth Packer plus 6 other children.

My line is: David & Elizabeth; Francis O. & Gideon Bowden; Julia Franklin & James Goodman Bridger Sr; Birdie Wright & Augustus Smith Nash; Birdie Mildred & Horace Lee Dennis; Mary Evelyn & Russell E. Dant.

I lived in MD from the time I was 3 until last year when I moved back 'home' to Jonesboro, AR. My mother was born and raised here and my sisters & I were born here. You may have come in contact with my cousin Ingrid Roads who is also in Jonesboro.
Somewhere along the line we are 'cousins' and it's always nice to meet another relative. Hope this info has been of help.
Phyllis, if you'll e-mail me I'll send you a list (very old) that I have of Duke's buried in Panola Co. [contact link]
Judy, sorry for the delay in answering this. I wasn't notified that you had posted a reply. I was checking out the new posted pictures and here I am again.

Say girl, this is nice, I'd love a list and any help on this family. If you check your e-mail you already have my main e-mail address. Remember our discussion on Lucinda Duke, Ingrid, you and me? Sorry I didn't recognize your name.

You will have to tell me more about this John David Duke. I think I'm lost. I printed it and will check with my info I just re-enter after FTM vr. 11 and a computer crash deleted it.

Phyllis
Judy, I forgot to mention I had come to view by your pictures by Cooper, not by Duke. My Cooper's came to Texas from Jones/Jasper Co. , Miss.

I am also a descendent of David Duke and Elizabeth Jones Duke, their son, John Wm. Duke, and my grandfather, Robert Edw. Duke.
Would love to find burial place and date of above David and Elizabeth Duke?
Just found these posts today while looking for Susan Martha Johnson Duke. John David Duke was my great grandfather. His daughter Maggie Mae was my grandmother. John David's parents were Henry Colquit Duke and Mary Skinner Duke of Alabama who settled in Panola County, MS. I'm trying to find the parents of Susan "Susie" Johnson Duke. I have a tree on Ancestry with pictures of the Dukes.
