Son of James Geary (1825-1897) and Mary Campbell (1830-1900). Siblings: * Henry Geary born in 1863 * Elizabeth Mary Geary born in 1868 * Ann Maria Geary (1873-1942) and a unnamed half-sibling with the surname Parker. Born at the ranching/cattle station known as Cove Station near the border of South Australia. Married on 24 October 1896 to Euphemia Augusta Flora Meadows. Father of six children: * Florence May Geary (1897-1936) elder twin * Victor James Geary (1897-1968) younger twin * Hubert John (Jack) Geary (1898-1971) * Dora May Geary (1901-1967) * George Edward Geary (1903-1904) * Mutelle Annie Geary (1906-1972) Died intestate. Letters of administration filed by widow Euphemia. Cash value of his estate in 1908 was 121 pounds. After the birth of the twins the family located to Callawada in Victoria.
