1944 Belgium. You probably know what happened to her - but her little pigtails and toys bring an added dimension of sadness to her photo. She was an innocent.

Right? I was thinking the same thing as I got home from work and heard the news about Barcelona today and then seeing this picture and reading the comments. I really do wish that we could all get along and that these bad things stop happening to innocent people.
Very sad! And it could happen again.

If you look at this precious child & put a child of your own, a little sister, cousin just anyone you love in her place could you, whoever you are, ever want harm to come to her?? Why can't we just love each other & give peace a chance. Our children deserve to live in happiness & peace. She was loved.

People who stick their heads in the sand because they don't want to think of the unpleasant side of things enable things like bullying and genocide.

Does not mean that people stick their heads in the sand. People get sick and tired of always bringing up the negative in everything!

No need to be hopeful, Jennifer. She's dead. She was a six year old girl who was murdered by nazi scum. Do you think Jewish people have the privilege to be sick and tired of always hearing the negative when it's their families who were murdered? You're ridiculous and your callous "it doesn't affect me so leave me out of it" attitude is precisely what is wrong with this country.

Emily Reyes, that is not what I am saying whatsoever! I sick and tired of seeing the negativity in every single thing on media.

Seems like a lot of people are thriving on negativity these days! And seeing from the comments regarding my comment you are ones thriving on it. Negative feeds negative and positive feeds positive! Everyone knows about WWII. It does NOT mean that every single man, woman or CHILD died! Let's just have more positive thoughts that HOPEFULLY by some chance that she made it!

Being able to ignore what you refer to as "the negative" is EXACTLY what people mean when they talk about white privilege. People who are members of minority groups cannot ignore it, because we live it, every second of every day!

And if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

It's not ignoring it! It's what at the time of viewing this photo, I was and sick and tired of every single thing on media is negative! So Sharon Jones, tell me how you are a solution to today's problems?!
