Inside a general store: As the Christmas shopping season begins, it seems to me that there's something peaceful about this store. Of course, choices were severely limited . . . What do you think? Peace or scarcity?

Christmas shopping would have been a lot easier....maybe a bolt of fabric for the sewers in the family....a pocket knife for Johnny....if you were lucky there might be a little doll for Susie......shopping done....LOL

as a kid in the 1950's the family traveled across country every summer and I remember many, many little towns along the way still had stores like this … and a big ice chest out front, filled with soda
