Today I was granted the extraordinary privilege of reuniting Officer Donald Cameron Walker's lost Memorial Bar with his Memorial Cross, presented to his mother nearly 72 years ago.
The 27 year old, only son of Robert and Ethel May (Cameron) Walker of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada, was numbered among those who, at the call of King and Country, left all that was dear to him, endured hardness, faced danger, and finally passed out of the sight of men by the path of duty and self-sacrifice, giving up his own life that others might live in freedom.
