Dennis D Woodruff and his wife Norma had two children during their 23 year marriage and were tragically murdered in 2005. Their son was convicted four years later inspiring a documentary disputing the trial.
I’m a little confused
The article states they had two children and that both also died on the same night .
However, another son was found guilty of murder?
Did they have three children
Joel Folliard The Woodruffs' two children were a son and a daughter. Neither of their children died that night....only the parents. Charla Woodruff, the daughter, was visiting relatives about an hour's drive away and getting ready to go back to university. The son, Brandon, was arrested and tried for the murders.
Born to Clyde Dale Woodruff (1939-2004) and Bonnie Sue Plunkett, it seems that Dennis spent much of his childhood in Texarkana Texas.
He married Norma Faye Johnston Woodruff (1963-2005) on June 16, 1982 in Texarkana Arkansas. The couple were married for 23 years and had 2 children - a son Brandon and a daughter Charla.
They both were murdered on Oct 16th 2005. Their son, Brandon Dale Woodruff was found guilty of capital murder for their deaths four years later in 2009.
There is a vocal group who supports Brandon and believes that he is innocent. A documentary of the case - "Texas Justice: Brandon Woodruff" - was made in 2020. See Documentary in Woodruff capital murder case to be screened Brad Kellar Nov 25, 2020 to read an article about the documentary from the Royse City Herald Banner.
