Clara Jane (Creek) Evans

Clarissa,(1854-1847), was the daughter of John and Mary Susan LEWIS Creek,(1836-1857). On Oct 20, 1872, she married Jesse Joshua Evans,(1844-1908) She was the mother of: Harry Lee; Ruth Evans Denio-Caster; Mary; Phillip; Fredrich Wm. "Mike", mine owner and businessman; Robert Moody, co-founder of the Drake Relays; John Lewis; and Edwin Van Meter Evans: b.1894, 2nd Lt., U.S.Army,16th Inf. Reg., 1st Div., A.E.F. KIA 18 July 1918, Soissons Drive, burial at Cutry Aisne, France; recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism, WWI.
