Used to pick up soda bottles ,and sell them and buy cigs. Bottles were a penny apiece , then went up to ,two and three cents, finally a nickel .

Oh yes. My dad received free cigarettes while in the navy and my mom got her first cigarettes at the doctors office. That’s how it started for them.

James Horton There were. They were sister's. I worked with Barbara, the oldest in the late 50's. She eventually got a job as a stewardess with Eastern Airline's.
