I went to CHDC for probably 6 or 7 summers. I remember a lot of names in this picture although this wasn't my group. Dave Goldman upper left, Steve Lefkowitz dead center upper row. 3rd row all the way left, last name is Rose. His mother was Phyllis 4 people to the right, same row. she was a head counselor. kid all the way right first row is Steve Rotker. OMG...what memories.

I went there as a young child and have a similar pic buried somewhere! I had a bus pick me up from Queens. It was a big trip over the Throgs Neck bridge everyday!

I was there in 1962. 7 years old, my brother was 10. It was at the foot of the Whitestone bridge, possibly where the trump golf course now is. It was a lovely place. Learned to swim there, spent hours in the pool and fields playing softball, etc owned by the Resnick family

I’m in the top row, 4th from the left. Summer 1962 I was a CIT, having been a camper there for many years. Absolutely amazing to see this photo!! Thanks! As an aside, CHDC is now a YMCA facility.

No, not Steve Lefkowitz because I’m top row dead center. One row below, far right, is the counselor I was a CIT for - Art Aronstein - who was a science teacher at Taft High School in the Bronx. In the middle of the photo is the swim counselor, the woman with the whistle around her neck. I think she was the daughter of the camp director. As the CITs were around 16 or so, she and her husband sometimes kept us after camp for “socials” with the female CITs. Old memories from 1962!
