This was my great grandmother who was a pioneer in Georgia. She was the first woman of color in Georgia to successfully bring a suit against a white landowner who tried to stake claim to her property and win the lawsuit. She instilled in her great grandchildren the importance of education having been self taught. She passed away the year I obtained my college degree. I am the third of her many great grandchildren. I was truly blessed to have her as my role model.
