William Sams 1741 - 1798

William Sams was born on April 18, 1741 in Wadmalaw Island, Charleston County, South Carolina United States to Robert Sams Sr and Bridget Barnwell Sams, and had siblings Robert Sams Jr, Elizabeth Sams Singleton Godfrey, and John Sams Sr. He was in a relationship with Elizabeth Hext Sams, and had children John Sams, Robert Sams, William Sams Jr, Francis Sams, Lewis Reeve Sams, Berners Barnwell Sams, and Edward Hext Sams. William Sams died at age 56 years old on January 16, 1798, and was buried at Sams Family Cemetery in Dataw Island.
