    William Martin was the son of William Castleberry(1705-1790) and his first wife Sarah Martin (1740-1775). The grandson of Heinrich Kesselberg (1661-1729) AKA Henry Castleberry, a german immigrant to Germantown, PA about 1683, naturalized as a British Subject 3/7/1691. William Martin had 5 bros., Paul 1761, John 1762, Henry 1766, Thomas 1770, David 1771.

In 1806, by the time he was 51 years old, on May 30th, Andrew Jackson killed Charles Dickinson in a duel. Dickinson accused Jackson of cheating on a bet, then insulted his wife Rachel - accusing her of bigamy. Although Dickinson had the first shot - and hit Jackson in the chest, near his heart - Jackson shot (maybe twice, which would have been illegal) and killed Dickinson. Although it is thought that Jackson fought anywhere from 5 to 100 duels (he had a bad temper), he won a run for President in 1829.
