William Lavallee of Springfield, Hampden County, MA was born on December 12, 1892 in Holyoke to Anastasia (Schneider) Lavallee and Henry William Lavallee. He had siblings Eugene V. Lavallee, Nellie Lavallee, Arthur Lavallee, William Lavallee, Gertrude Georgiana (Lavallee) Gingras, Veronica (Lavallee) Kennedy, Edward James Lavallee, and Harold Lavallee. He married Lena (Trudeau) Lavallee in 1920, and they were married until William's death on December 17, 1977. William Lavallee had children Grace Lavallee and William Lavallee.

Introduction

William Henry Lavallee was born on December 12th, 1892 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Henry Guillaume Lavallee (1859 - 1918) and Anastasia Anasthasie Schneider (1867 - 1957). His father was born in Quebec, Canada and his mother was born in the state of Vermont. William had eight siblings: Grace, Nellie, Veronica "Vera", Eugene, Arthur, Gertrude, Edward "Dutch", and Wilbur. A veteran of the United States Army, William served during World War I. He enlisted on July 29, 1918 and he was discharged on January 21st, 1919. William Lavalle married Lena I. Trudeau on June 6th, 1921 in Enfield, Connecticut, and they had on daughter, Grace Irene (1922 - 2004), and one son, William Henry Jr. (1927 - 1999). William died at the age of 85 on December 17th, 1977 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

William was Caucasian, most probably of French Canadian on his paternal line. His father, and paternal grandfather were born in Quebec. His paternal great-grandfather, Joseph Emmanuel Lavallee, was born in Quebec, Canada in 1805.

At the age of 47, William reported that the last grade he completed was the first year of high school.
Professional Career

In 1940, at age 47, William was living in Springfield, Massachusetts and working as a composer at a newspaper company. Ten years later, he reported that he was unable to work.
Personal Life & Family

On his April, 1942 World War II draft card, William was described as being 49 years old and being 5 feet 6 inches tall. He weighed 152 pounds, had blue eyes, black hiar, and a "fair" complexion. The small finger on his right hand had a missing nail. William married Lena Irene Trudeau in 1921 and they had one son and one daughter.
