    William E Giltz was born to George Edward Giltz (1889-1949) and Bessie Margaret Siegeliss Giltz (1889-1986) on December 7, 1917, in Jackson, Indiana. Both of his parents were 28 years old at the time of his birth. He married Pauline Tucker Brown on April 18, 1941, in Brazil, Indiana. Together, they had one son, William Edward Giltz (1954-2011) and one daughter, Cherly Ann Giltz. The family lived in Sugar Ridge, Clay, Indiana, USA. On June 17, 1941, William enlisted in the US military at Fort Jay Governors Island in New York as a Private in the Selectees (Enlisted Men) branch of the United States Army. He served for four years and two months before being discharged on August 30, 1945. William passed away in Terre Haute, Indiana, in February 1981 at the age of 63. He was laid to rest in Harmony, Indiana.
