William Barnes was born on October 19, 1871 in Albury, NSW Australia to Samuel Barnes and Catherine (Bartley) Barnes, and had siblings Emily (Barnes) Nagel, Mary Anne Barnes, Catherine (Barnes) Keeble, Sarah (Barnes) Green, Annie Frances (Barnes) Burrell, James Barnes, Mary (Barnes) La Pouple, Ellen Frances (Barnes) Lantay, Samuel Barnes, Francis William Barnes, Alice Jane Barnes, Maude (Barnes) O'Brien, and Ada (Barnes) Robinson. He married Mary (Blake) Barnes on November 27, 1891, and died at age 38 years old in 1909 in Hay, Hay Shire Council County. William Barnes was buried in 1909 in Hay.
