  • Ethnicity & Family History

Wayne was Caucasian, his father Mahlon Brehme was of German descent but was born in Newark New Jersey as long as his parents and grandparents. And Waynes mother Anne Garvey was born in Belfast Ireland and immigrated here with her two brothers Pat and Dave.
  • Religious Beliefs

Wayne Brehme was born into a Catholic family.
  • Professional Career

Wayne was the youngest of three sons, his father Mahlon wanted his sons to go to college and get an education, his older brothers William and Dennis were involved in the Army during the Vietnam war era and sadly had a bad habit with alcohol, Dennis died in his mid 30’s due to cirrhosis of the liver manly due to drinking. And even though Wayne didn’t have a interest to go into college, after the death of his father, he made a promise to him that he would go to college and graduate, and he didn’t disappoint. He graduated from FDU and majored in business. He worked as a salesman for several metal companies in New York City and did well for himself.
  • Personal Life & Family

For Wayne family was everything. He married my mother Patricia who was one of 8 siblings and came from a big Italian family. When my mother first introduced him to the family my father was in shock and a little intimidated by how big of a family my mother had and how close everyone was, after a short while everyone came to love Wayne, always smiling, always polite and treated my mother with the love and respect she deserved. Wayne had two sons Dennis and Anthony. No matter what kind of day Wayne had or what kind of mood he was in, when he came home to his little sons the whole world would stop and he was so happy to see them. Wayne was the friend everyone wished they had, loved sports, had a glowing smile and was always happy to be around. Wayne was a great man who just got dealt a bad hand.

    Death date
Lung cancer, died March 30th 12:30 AM, he fought very hard in order to not die on his son’s 10th birthday which was March 29th. I’m his son, I’ll never forget being signed out of school early because he didn’t have much longer, and even with all the pain, fighting to breathe, when I entered the room my mother said to him “Wayne, Dennis is here, it’s his birthday.” And with all his strength he reached out and grabbed my hand to give me a happy birthday handshake. As he was experiencing death he was also celebrating life. What a treasure. My dad died a brave man, he never complained or asked “why me?” He was more concerned with making my mother feel at ease and not to worry her. I don’t believe in coincidences especially of this magnitude, my great grandfather died on my grandfather’s birthday and my grandfather died young at the dinner table infront of everyone at 53. My dad was 49, I know in my heart he fought until it was after midnight, my mom whispered to him that it was okay to let go and that he made it past midnight, he died less than 30 minutes later.
