******************
A Union soldier during the Civil War, his full name was Thomas Henry Stark. He enlisted September 6, 1862 at the age of 31 in Waddington, New York and first served as a private in Company A of the 16th NY Infantry, but transferred to the 121st on May 11, 1863.

He was captured at or near Brandy Station, Virginia on November 27, 1863 and sent to Andersonville Prison. He was misidentified and cross-referenced as both J H Stark and Thomas Starkey in the confederate records.

He died in captivity and was buried at plot 2520. Official cause of death was listed as "diarrhea", undoubtedly caused by the unsanitary conditions at the time of Andersonville's largest number of prisoners.

He is memorialized at the family lot at Brookside Cemetery in his hometown of Waddington, New York.

He was unmarried. His military records included his physical description as "5' 6" in height, light skin, blue eyes, light hair".

***********************

Burial was under the name of T H Starkey

The above was compose by Robin Ann Voegtlin (aka Alexander, aka Gilebarto). Robin, a daughter of Lucille Selina Stark, Clan Muirhead and niece of Louise Sophia Stark, Clan Muirhead and Hannah Mary Stark, Clan Muirhead.
