  • Introduction

    Texas went by her middle name, Viney. She never liked her given first name. She married Carroll Frederick Wilder in or around 1929 and had a son, Carroll Sargent Wilder when she was 19 years old, at home on Romney Place at CMCH December 23, 1930. She had no other children. She was a well known poet especially in southern New Jersey. She was widowed in 1960 and married Freeman Endicott later in life. They are buried together in the Endicott family burial grouping at CMCH Baptist Church cemetery. Her sister, Kathryn and her husband George L. Goll are also interred at that cemetery. Viney was known as "Tippy" by her six grandchildren. The poem, Pittypat And Tippytoe by Eugene Field, was a favorite of her's and her first husband, Carroll F. was Pitty to her Tippy.
