In 1805, he was 74 years old when Joseph Smith Jr. was born on December 23rd in Sharon, Vermont. He grew up on a series of tenant farms in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York and when he was 24, he published the Book of Mormon. By the time he died at the age of 38, he had tens of thousands of followers in his church - the Church of Latter Day saints.
