    Professional Wrestler. He was a 6'10", 450 pound giant who used his size, charm and personality to become an enduring favorite in the professional wrestling industry. He began his career as a local wrestler, was very popular with the fans, won several championships in Tennessee and won several tag team championships with Terry Sawyer in the late 1970s. In the mid-1980s, he wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation as Uncle Elmer and teamed up with Gentleman Lawler to win the AWA Southern Tag Team Championship in June 1986. In November 1986, he found success in the super heavyweight division when he won the CWA Super Heavyweight Championship and held the championship until the promotions were abandoned in 1988.
