Shirley N. Mayo, 80, died Dec. 21, 2012, at her home in Rutland, surrounded by family. She was born May 1, 1932, in Chesham, N.H., the daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Morse) Nye. She attended Peterborough High School in Peterborough, N.H., Class of 1952. She was a librarian at Southeast School, and worked at the Vermont State Fair at Lyman's Food Stand. She attended the United Methodist Church and the Rutland American Legion Post 31 Auxiliary. She enjoyed skiing and crafts. Survivors include three daughters, Anne Roy, Linda Dunn, and Sally Derepentigny, all of Rutland; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Messer of Rutland. She was predeceased by her husband, Earle Mayo, in 2002; two brothers, Robert Nye and Leo Nye; and a sister, Bertha Seneschal of Peterborough, N.H. A graveside service will be held Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Fletcher Allen Dialysis Unit of RRMC, 160 Allen St., Rutland, VT 05701.
