I met igor through ambrose. Igor was always driving chris everywhere, they were together almost everytime. Igor was quietly my friend, always loving always offeringto buy food and drinks. He didnt have much to say but his quiet smile and very presence showed his kindness and good nature. Everytime he stopped in he would take a moment to pet, "the cat kinkers" is what he called her. Her name was kinky. He would bring my young dsughter gifts for no apparent reason except thst he Truly cared. One night he came by bobs hiuse where I stayed due to my relapsing and failures to keep a job and he and I drank beers and chatted about the unemployment rateand he expresses his discouragement and I listened. We were friends. And that night we lie together side by side as friends. I reached to his head to stroke his hair fondly. He wouldnt allow that. We were friends and the line not crossed. I miss him dearly and didnt see him for years due to getting married soon after. Last time I saw my friend we were at an art festival in lafayette and of course he didnt say much but let me know he had finally reached citizenship status and we celebrated with huge smiles at eachother on the apartmenr deck overlooking the festival. It was always the little things we shared that meant the world. Last look we exchanged he wasscooting dannys mom up thr hill in a wheelchair so that she could attend too. He looked back over his shoulder and waved. The neat thing is he looked back a second time at me and mouthed the word, bye. And even more special,... I was watching still and waiting for him to do that. I love you, Igor. On to glory.
