Selina Ann Tomlinson 1856 - 1928

Selina Ann (Haywood) Tomlinson was born in 1856 in Steiglitz, Golden Plains Shire County, VIC Australia to Robert Haywood and Ann Haywood ( Turner, and had siblings Annie Victoria Haywood and Joseph Henry Haywood. She was in a relationship with George Thomas Tomlinson, and had children Minnie Sawyer ( Tomlinson, Lily Osler, Emily Peter, Albert George Tomlinson, Elsie Mildred Little ( Tomlinson, and Ada Tomlinson. Selina Tomlinson died at age 71 years old on November 25, 1928.

In 1856, in the year that Selina Ann Tomlinson was born, on February 18th, The American Party, also called the "Know-Nothings" because they were an anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant movement, assembled in Philadelphia to nominate their first Presidential candidate, former President Millard Fillmore. The party sought to keep the "purity" of elections by blocking "impure" foreigners.
