He had siblings Harry Horton Bumguardner, Joe Cephas Bumguardner, Jr, Lee Nash Bumguardner, and Mary Alice (Bumguardner) Mottram. He married Charlotte Ernestine (Middleton) Bumguardner, and died at age 92 years old on December 25, 2010. Scott Bumguardner was buried in Mariposa.
