  • Introduction

Samuel Konigstein was the brother of my grandmother Jennie Konigstein Green. My name is Burke leon and my mother was Frieda Green Leon. Samuel Konigstein was in a lifelong business with my grandfather Joseph Green and they lived for most of their lives at 90 hooper street in Brooklyn. Sam and his family had the top floor(s) , my grandparents ( joseph and Jennie Konigstein green) had the bottom floor and there might have been a tenant in the middle or upper floor. Sam and my grandfather ran a seltzer/soda business ( I guess delivering it) for years. my grandfathers 4 surviving children ( Frieda, Florie, Shirley and Pearly) lived there for most of their childhood and young adulthood.
