Saline Ann (Lynch) Sallie of 3743 S. Martin Luther King Drive apt. 153, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois United States was born on August 9, 1913 in Helena-West Helena, AR to Will Lynch and Idella Lynch. She had a brother Walter Lynch. Saline was baptized circa August 1922 at Helena in Helena-West Helena, Phillips County. Saline's partner was Henry Tharbs and they later separated. They had children June Sallie and Lanera Henry Sallie. She would also marry Percy Sallie, and they were married until Percy's death. Saline Sallie died at age 69 years old in July 1983 at Mercy Hospital 2900 S. Martin Luther King Drive, in Chicago, Cook County, IL, and was buried circa July 1983 at Burr Oak Cemetery 4400 W 127th St, in Alsip.

Saline has nine grandchildren, Carmen and Michael Meeks, La Veena Sallie, Kimberly Sallie, Tamia Sallie, Kelli Sallie, Sunda Sallie Dorthey Franklin and George Franklin Jr.

In 1913, in the year that Saline Sallie was born, Woodrow Wilson became the 28th President of the United States in March. Previously the Governor of New Jersey and President of Princeton University, he was the first Southerner to serve as President since Zachary Taylor, over 60 years previous. A Democrat, he led the U.S. during World War I and championed the League of Nations.

In 1934, at the age of 21 years old, Saline was alive when on November 11th 1933, an extremely strong dust storm hit South Dakota, stripping topsoil. Other strong dust storms had occurred during 1933. Severe droughts continued to hit the Great Plains and the dust storms devastated agricultural production as well as people's' lives for several years. The Roosevelt administration and scientists eventually determined that farming practices had caused the conditions that led to the dust storms and the changes they implemented in farming stopped the Dust Bowl.
