Ruth Bowling (Bowling) Parsley was born in 1898 to Lucinda (McFadden) Bowling and Alex Bowling, and had a sister Mary (Bowling) McCowan. She was in a relationship with Charles Parsley, and had children Barbara (Parsley) McCracken, Edna (Parsley) Langley, Beulah Faye (Parsley) Caudle, Kenneth Parsley, Dora Kathleen (Parsley) McFadden, Charles Conrad "Cub" Parsley, and Hayward Parsley. Ruth Parsley died at age 61 years old in 1959.

The Parsley Family in 1950 in London, Laurel County, Kentucky.

Back row: Dora Kathleen (Parsley) McFadden, Barton Kenneth Parsley, Charles Conrad "Cub" Parsley, Edna (Parsley) Langley, Beulah Fae (Parsley) Tuttle, Barbara (Parsley) McCracken, and Beckham Hayward Parsley.
All of Ruth and Charlie Parsley's children has this photograph. My grandmother made me a copy from her photo.
Ruth was the daughter of Alex Bowling (son of Mary "Polly" [Garland] and Isham Bowling "Bolling") and Lucinda McFadden (daughter of Mary Williams and Westerfield "Wesley" McFadden).
Charlie was the son of Margaret Ray (daughter of John and Nancy [Hodge] Ray) and Pleasant "Lee" Parsley (son of Mary "Polly" May).
I just want to add a note to this on my grandma, Beulah Faye (Parsley) Tuttle Caudle . One day in the early 1990's one of her grown up children was hearing a story on the Hillbillies from the Appalachian Mountains and made a comment to Beulah that their family (or ancestors) was probably like them in the past. Beulah got very angry. She said "My family is not like those people" and she added that her family looked down on people like that. They didn't like them. I think my grandma probably thought her daughter was talking about the bad Appalachian people because there are different types.

The Bowling Family of Clay and Laurel County, Kentucky, c.1940's. Children of Alex Bowling and Lucinda McFadden.
Front row: Mary (Bowling) McCowan, Ruth (Bowling) Parsley, Nancy (Bowling) Brummett, and Barbara (Bowling) Humfleet. Ruth was my paternal grandmother's mother.
Back row: Isaac, Abraham, Pleasant, Sidney, and Potter Bowling.
The children not in the picture were Jesse, George, Bert, and Frank.

HI!!
My Bowling/Bolling relatives were/are from Clay co., Kentucky.
My GtGrs were Alfred Bowling & Alabama Boln.
I also descend from the Andrew Baker-Mary/Molly Bowling line.
My 5th GtGrs were Rev. Jesse Bowling & Mary Pennington(their son, Justice, is my GtGrs' line, who was GtGr Jobe Bolling's mother was GtGtGr Sarah/Sally Ann Baker.
The Bakers are also related from my father's line-Hoskins.

George Bowling and his sister, Ruth
This is a picture of my paternal grandmother's mother, Ruth (Bowling) Parsley, the wife of Charles Parsley. Ruth is with her brother, George Bowling and her baby in the photo. I was told the baby was Barbara.
This picture was taken in the early 1920's.
George and Ruth are children of Alex and Lucinda (McFadden) Bowling. They are the grandchildren of Isham Bowling & Mary "Polly" Garland and Westerfield McFadden & Mary Williams.

Ruth (Bowling) Parsley and her sister, Nancy (Bowling) Brummett in about the early-mid 1910's in Clay County (or Laurel County), Kentucky. The daughters of Alex Bowling and Lucinda (McFadden) Bowling. Ruth was born in 1898 and Nancy was born about 1900. Ruth is the taller one in the all polka dot dress with her hand on her hip in this photograph.
The original photograph is owned right now by my aunt, Shirley (Tuttle) Scholl, a granddaughter of Ruth.
