  • Introduction

    My grandmother had memories from her grandmother, Martha Ann Goode, Casey County, Kentucky. Since my grandmother's mother died young, Grandma was largely cared for by her grandma Goode. She had told her stories of her Uncle Valentine and Uncle Fleming (named for the previous Fleming and Valentines) there was also an Aunt Rhoda. The Rhoda Peyton Goode you're looking for was born in 1770 and died in 1810--only 40 years old. Since she had 9 children in 11 years, I think that probably had a lot to do with her early death! Martha was the granddaughter of Alfred. Alfred was Rhoda's son, born circa 1799. I have a picture of Martha somewhere, I will have to find it and scan it into my computer. Rhoda's husband was John Fleming Goode 1774-1858.
