Rose led a pretty serious life, taking care of Jessie, her mom, until she passed in 1961. Rose worked in the accounting and bookkeeping department for Marshall Fields for many years. She would fly out to visit us every Thanksgiving, and one whole suitcase would be packed with Christmas presents that had all been professionally wrapped at Marshall Fields, and they were spectacular. My mom and I saved the wrappings and decorations from those gifts and re-used them for years, keeping them in the family.
Rose did not marry until later in life, but found a lifelong partner in Andy Quinlan. After Jessie died, Rose and Andy moved out to the Phoenix area and she lived in Sun City until she died.
One of the highlights of Rose's life was being invited by Bob Novak (her cousin) to Washington, D.C. for his daughter's wedding. I remember how excited she was about that trip. Bob Novak was a political pundit who was on CNN on a show called Crossfire, among other politically oriented endeavors.
Family was of great importance to Rose, and she lived well into her 90's.
