He was married to Beatrice E (Kehl) Karow on May 24, 1949, and they were together until Beatrice's death on June 6, 1988. He had children Barbara (Karow) Rennhack Hoeppner and Robert Karow. Ronald Karow died at age 77 years old on June 30, 2007 at UW Health University Hospital 600 Highland Ave, in Madison, Dane County, and was buried on July 3, 2007 at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus, Columbia County.

President Roosevelt approved of all of them and most them were implemented during his terms as President. She served until his death in 1945.
