John Clark applied for guardianship of the Spivey children after the close together death of their parents William James Spivey & Ludie Maud Clark in 1919. My grandmother always called it Gay Georgia. William was the son of James J Spivey & Elizebrth (Besty) Mitchell, grandson of Jordon Spivey and Sarah Chapell Tweety. All of Meriwether County Georgia.
They have the children listed as Clarks. Six of the children were placed in Thornwell Childrens Home in Clinton S. C. in 1921.

John Clark gave up guardianship of the Spivey children after 1 year.Their grandparents John Henry Clark and his wife Laura Alice Roberts Clark were up in age and it was to much on them is what I was told.
