Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

Rieck Bennett (Kerber) Hannifin, a girl, was born to Isidore Kerber and Stella Rieck. She had siblings Elenore R. and Eugene S. Kerber. Rosita Rieck Kerber, age 17, married Henry Allen Bennett, age 21, on July 24, 1943 in Ouachita County, Pennsylvania. Rosita, or Rieck, as she was known professionally may have married twice but there is no record of her second marriage. Her death certificate said that she never had children. Her death certificate also said that she worked for the Library of Congress as a specialist in Latin American Affairs. She must have been good at her job, because several articles quoted her as a source in the 1960's and 1970s. See Rieck Hannifin - San Francisco Examiner for a sample article. Rieck died from breast cancer. According to her death certificate, she was first diagnosed twenty years before she died.
