Richard Carl Fauske 1937 - 2009

Richard Carl Fauske of Orange, Orange County, California was born on July 27, 1937 to Carl George Fauske and Gunda (Thelin) Fauske. He had a sister JoAnne Gunda (Fauske) Polenik. He married Caroline Sue Fauske on March 16, 1963 in Mexico, and they were married until Caroline's death on August 14, 2006. He had children Ann Marie (Fauske) Aldrich and Susan Elizabeth (Fauske) Medeiros. Richard Fauske died at age 71 years old on January 16, 2009.

In 1937, in the year that Richard Carl Fauske was born, on May 6th, the German zeppelin the Hindenburg caught fire and blew up. The Hindenburg was a passenger ship traveling to Frankfurt Germany. It tried to dock in New Jersey, one of the stops, and something went wrong - it blew up. Thirty-six people were killed out of the 97 on board - 13 passengers, 22 crewmen, and one ground worker. The reasons for the explosion are still disputed.
