Philip John Handmer of St Kilda Australia was born in 1880 in Toolleen, VIC to Charles Thomas Handmer and Emily Eliza Herald Handmer. He had siblings Lucy Lydia Handmer, Charles William Handmer, Emily Elizabeth (Handmer) Jones, Susanna May Handmer, Elsie Matilda Handmer, Edith Mary Ellen Handmer, Grace Olive Handmer, Lily Jane Leversha, Walter Frederick Handmer, and William George Handmer. He married Zelia Myrtle (Wholagan) Handmer, and had a child Trevllyn Philip Versary Handmer. Philip Handmer died at age 47 years old on February 12, 1928 in WA.
