    When he was sixteen years old, Peter told the 1940 Federal census that he had completed four years of high school.

    His funeral Mass was at St. Mary's Church in west Quincy.
  • Military Service

    A veteran, Peter served in the United States Navy during World War II. He enlisted on February 25th, 1941 and he was discharged on December 14th, 1946. He also re-enlisted in October of 1950 and was discharged in February of 1952.

    Peter John Rugo Jr was born on September 27th, 1923 in Boston, Massachusetts to Pietro Rugo (1893 - 1938) and Mary E Marmai (1905 - 1926) and he had a brother, Joseph A Rugo (1925 - 1985). On his January 1947 World War II draft card, Peter described himself as being five feet nine inches tall and as weighing 150 pounds. He had green eyes, brown hair, and a "light" complexion. He also had a tattoo on his right leg. Peter Rugo Jr married Teresa A Guarino (1924 - 2005) and they had four children: two sons and two daughters. He was survived by five grandchildren. Peter Rugo is my loving, wonderful father. He was a doting father who put his children first. He is combination of Jim on Father Knows Best, Ward on Leave it to Beaver and the famous Dr. Stone on The Donna Reed Show. All circa, 1960.
