    Percy immigrated with his family from Tonnepandy,Wales in 1928 at the age of 12. His family had lived there for generations and headstones from the family can be seen in the local churchyard dating back to the 15th century. He had six surviving siblings,5 brothers and one sister. Oddly enough,ancestry going even further back has traced this branch to Scottish royalty.

    Percy was raised in Wales until he immigrated with his family to Wilkes Barre,PA at 12. He was allowed to attend school up to th 5th grade when e onomics demanded every able bodied famy member work. Je then got a job along woth his father and brothers in the Pennsylvania coal mines where he worked until he ran away from home at 15.
  • Early Life & Education

    Percy attended grammer school up util the 5th grade. After running away from home and settling in New Jersey, he married and had 2 children. He the joind the Navy and was discharged after surviving the sinking of the USS Glennon, having been wounded in battle. He attended the then Central State University, which is now known as Univetsity Of Central Oklahoma and graduated Cum Laude with a degree of Management Anylyst.

  • Religious Beliefs

    Percy was an agnostic most of his life until he had a major heart attack and he was clinically dead for several minutes. He actually saw Christ who told him to retun and tell everyone of what he had experienced. Although his rough and tumble personality never changed, he was a man of great faith from that day forward and he and his wife,Marjorie actually helped start aseed church in OKC calked Community Bible Church. He often said it was one of his proudest achievements.
  • Military Service

    He was a decorated WW II veteran aboard the USS Glennon. The ship was sunk in battle and Percy was forced to exit the ship throughthe torpedo hole the Nazi submarine had left as he was trapoed in the engine room with no other exit. He was wounded and was guven a purple heart for his service.
  • Professional Career

    Percy was a management for FAA until his retirement. He put himself through school working jobs in oil field and sales. When Percy was discharged after his military service, he found his wife wanted a divorce. He then moved to New York City and had moderate success singing in night clubs on the same circuit as Frank Sinatra and other popular crooners of the day.

In 1916, in the year that Percy Daniels was born, in June, the U.S. Congress authorized a plan to expand the armed forces over the next five years. Called the National Defense Act of 1916, the national law expanded the National Guard and Army (the Army added an aviation unit), created the Reserves, and gave the President expanded authority to federalize the National Guard. It also allowed the government to stockpile, in advance, materiel to be used in wartime.

In 1921, Percy was only 5 years old when on March 4, Warren G. Harding became President. Previously a U.S. Senator, Lieutenant Governor, and Ohio State Senator, Harding was a popular President. But many scandals plagued his short administration (he died in office after 2 and a half years), including the revelations of one of his mistresses and the Teapot Dome scandal. Historically, Harding is rated as one of the worst Presidents.
