Pendleton Pope Henderson 1886 - 1949

Pendleton Pope Henderson was born on July 21, 1886 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia United States to Mary Elizabeth (Richardson) Henderson and William Thomas Henderson, and had siblings George Washington Henderson, William Edgar Henderson, Rawley Ellis Henderson, Florence Prudence (Henderson) Hill, Isaac Thomas Henderson, Dailey Ellen (Henderson) Cole, Beanie Carson (Henderson) Booth, and Chesley Martin Henderson. He married Lucy Ann (Breeden) Henderson on December 17, 1913 in Halifax, Halifax County, and they were married until Pendleton's death on April 22, 1949 in Danville. He had children Virginia Lee Henderson Pruitt, Lee Thomas Henderson, Mary Howard Henderson Watlington, Berkley Eveard Henderson, Doris Anne Henderson Warren, Iris Wilson Henderson Tate, and Bertha Lee Henderson Ward Skeen. Pendleton Henderson was buried on April 24, 1949 at Highland Burial Park N Main St, in Danville.

    Long Illness Fatal To P. P. Henderson P. P. Henderson of the Park Springs road died in Memorial hospital yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock after an illness of two years. He had been a patient at the institution since December. Mr. Henderson, who was 66 years of age, was born in Pittsylvania county, a son of the late Thomas and Mary Henderson. He had lived most of his life in Caswell county and had been a resident of the Parks Spring road for 24 years. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Breeden Henderson, five daughters and two sons: Mrs. James Warren of Pelham; Mrs. Early Watlington of the Parks Springs road; Mrs. Clyde Tate and Mrs. Tom Pruitt, both of Sutherlin; Miss Bertha Henderson of Park Springs; Lee Henderson of Pelham and Berkeley Henderson of Reidsville. Three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. George Booth, Mrs. Bernard Cole and Mrs. W. T. Hill, all of Ringgold; Chesley Henderson of Danville and Ira Henderson of Paces and nine grandchildren also are left. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of Swicegood funeral home Sunday after- noon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park. The body will rest at the funeral home.
