    Pearl's father was Pink Monroe Higgins, born about 1868 in North Carolina. He died in 1952. Her mother was Mary Higgins, born in September 1869 in Virginia. She died May 8 1945. She had siblings Sarah R, Charles Greever, Cora, Minnie, William M., and James, Mamie and Mattie, and George Crocket. Pearl married on June 26 1918 in Bandy Virginia and had a daughter, Irene Delphia Harmon, 1920 - 1991. In the 1910 census, Pearl age 9 was living with her parents Pink, 43, and Mary, 41, and siblings Greever C. age 19, Cora age 16, Minnie age 14, William age 12, James age 7, Mamie age 5, and Mattie age 3. Pink was a farmer and son Greever was a laborer. According to her Oct 31 2001 obituary in the Tampa Bay Times, Pearl was 101 at the time of her death. She moved to Florida from Randolph MA in 1980. Episode 177 of the television show Friends was dedicated to Pearl. It's believed she was a relative of a script writer for that episode.

Called the "Tournament East–West football game" at the time, the Michigan Wolverines (East) played the Stanford Indians (West) - the Wolverines won 49 - 0.
