Pat and I met in middle school. She was born Patricia Ehrig. I think her mother's name was Keiper. They came from Fountain Hill, a magical area of Bethlehem. She was beautiful and elegant and very sophisticated. In high school, Liberty, she started dating a Shigo. His parents owned the Maple Restuarant on Linden and New Street. He was a few years older and had a fancy XKE convertible. He would pick her up after school and sometimes she would drive it to school. I remember her tooling around the corner in front of the drug store and parking. I was a very good friend of hers. Sometime in senior year she got pregnant with her son and married him. I remember the baby shower. I lost touch with her after that as I got married and traveled in different circles. I remember visiting Bethlehem in 2001 with my mom for a week. I called her and talked to her. She wouldn't see me cause she was so sick. I hear it was colon cancer. I never heard from her again until I connected with old high school friends on Facebook while planning our reunion. I found her obit on line. If anyone wants a picture of her, please email. I have one I can send. She was so beautiful and sweet. Rest in Peace Pat.
