She was in a relationship with Edward Martin Bush, and had children Joseph Payne Bush, Sarah C.Abbot, John William Bush, Mary Bush Johnson, Vailery Agnes (Bush) Williams, and Augusta (Bush) Grimes. Parmelia Bush died at age 55 years old on August 7, 1888 in IL.

In 1832, in the year that Parmelia Elizabeth (Roland) Bush was born, by February 12th, a cholera epidemic in London claimed at least 3,000 lives - it eventually killed 6,536. The epidemic spread to France and North America later in the year.
