    I used to sit with him on the swing under the oak tree. He would tell me stories about Indians and gave me 3 arrowheads found on his farm. On Christmas, the numerous nieces and nephews would line up to get a new $1.00 bill from him. My name is Karen Deimling born to Charles and Irene in 1951.

Poland expected help from France and the United Kingdom, since they had a pact with both. But no help came. By October 6th, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany held full control of the previously Polish lands. Eventually, the invasion of Poland lead to World War II.
